ASIG Software Programmers

ASIG Software's primary asset is the knowledge and experience of its developers. Experienced professionals all, their skills encompass everything from database design to software lifecycle processes to security.

Paul Kaarakka (résumé)

Paul is our resident pragmatist; he may be willing to adopt useful new technology, but he never takes a fling without assessing the costs and benefits first. Paul has done desktop and Web software projects for the Veterinary School, the Horticulture Department, and Soil Science, in C++, Object Pascal, and Java. He is currently the lead developer on SNAP-Plus.

Rick Wayne (résumé)

Rick leverages his work at Software Development magazine and Dr. Dobb's Journal to act as ASIG Software's technology and process scout. Rick keeps the servers running, maintains our weather and modeling infrastructure, and programs primarily in Ruby and Java. His current projects include the Virtual Museum of Minerals and Molecules and instructional-support applications for Soil Science courses.
