Teaching and Research

Coordinate development of the SnapPlus nutrient management planning software in cooperation with other soil, crop, and environmental scientists, software developers, and personnel from state and federal agencies. Duties include continued refinement of the Wisconsin P Index model using Wisconsin research findings and scientific literature, writing grant proposals, supervising student workers, model verification using runoff monitoring results, oversight of the integration of the P Index and the Rusle2 (erosion prediction) models with SnapPlus nutrient management planning software, designing model components that allow planners to meet Natural Resource Conservation Service planning guidelines, piloting the SnapPlus program, conducting training sessions, and preparing guidance materials for Snap-Plus and P Index users.
