The Forecast Cycle
-
Think of a "forecast cycle" as starting each morning at about
11:00 am. The first new product of the cycle is a 30-hr forecast that
covers the period from 6:00 am that morning to 12 noon of the next
morning. This is the forecast that pops up when you select TODAY from
the menu of choices on the main cranberry page.
-
The TODAY forecast is updated during the evening as explained
earlier in this tour. These updates appear on the Web approximately
one hour after the weather data used to correct the forecast were
collected.
-
Also on the main cranberry page are choices for TOMORROW for each
forecast region. These graphs are created about 12:00 noon of TODAY in
a forecast cycle. Again the date at the top of each graph applies to the
time at the left edge of the graph. The TOMORROW forecast
and graph are only updated once, and that happens after midnight.
-
The forecast cycle ends about 2:00 am of the day after it started.
At this time the TODAY graph and forecast are given their final update.
The TOMORROW forecast is also updated at this time.
