Instructions: Study
and complete Part I (Pages 1-9) of the Soil Survey Activity. You are encouraged
to work together. When you have finished the work of Part I, complete the data
table and questions on Page 8. Page 8 is your ticket for entrance for the GIS
hands-on activity in the basement of Steenbock
Library. When you enter the GIS computer room your assignment will be briefly
reviewed. If completed and you attend a GIS laboratory session you will get
credit for Problem Set 11.
GIS Laboratory sessions will be held in the Basement of Steenbock Library on Wednesday, April 12 and Friday, April
14. If your last name begins with A – K then come to the GIS laboratory on
Wednesday April 12. For those with a last name starting with L – Z come to
the lab on Friday, April 14. If you prefer a different day, then make your own
arrangements to trade. Your leaders will be Mark and Keith.

Alternate day to Soil Survey GIS:
On the alternate day for the laboratory (April 12 or 14) there will be
a hands-on soil morphology session in Room 357 Soils lead by Jerry.
